TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Nursery Places and Bookings
A signed and fully completed application form must be received by the nursery before a place can be considered. Full and Part Time sessions must fit in to the session times detailed on the application form: however, we will attempt to meet individual needs where possible. We will not confirm a booking more than three months prior to the start date of the child. A minimum of two sessions MUST be booked to commence at nursery.
A £35.00 non – refundable registration fee is required upon booking a place. This is payable at the time of registration. (No settling sessions are permitted until the nursery is in receipt of a completed application form and registration fee)
Fees and Invoices
The first invoice is payable by cash or cheque the day the child first attends the nursery. Thereafter, payment is payable on the first of each month. If payment is not made within 7 days a fee of £10.00 per day will be levied on the account. It is the parent’s responsibility to cancel any Standing Orders when the child leaves the nursery to ensure no further payments are taken on the 1st of each month. A sibling discount is applied to the eldest child’s fees where two or more children are registered at the nursery. Discounts are only applicable to the core sessions booked and do not apply to extra sessions or ad hoc bookings.
All invoices are issued at least five working days prior to the 1st of each month and are calculated using actual sessions attended. Extra sessions or additional charges will be invoiced in arrears according to the date the nursery was notified. Fees are increased annually. Two months notice will be given before any fee increase is implemented.
If you are late collecting your child from the nursery, a late collection charge of £10.00 for every fifteen minutes or part thereof may be imposed. This will be at the discretion of the Nursery Manager.
The nursery is open for 51 weeks of the year. The nursery will be closed for the week between Christmas and New Year and on all Bank Holidays. You will not be charged for the Christmas period but normal charges will apply for Bank Holidays. Alternative sessions may be offered within one month of a Bank Holiday IF the nursery has spaces available.
Termination /Cancellation /Changes to Booking Patterns.
We require one months notice in writing, should you wish to terminate a nursery place for any reason. Parents still remain liable for any fees during the notice period. If a parent withdraws their child during this notice period the fees shall still remain payable. We reserve the right to terminate a nursery place with immediate effect if any fees are not paid by due date.
We will not tolerate abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour by a parent, carer or child and reserve the right to terminate a nursery place with immediate effect under these circumstances.
If a start date is postponed by a parent, we reserve the right to charge from the original start date on the application form, unless we are given one months notice in writing.
If a parent wishes to change the number of sessions taken at the nursery, a change of session form must be completed and handed to the Nursery Manager. Any increase in sessions may be approved with immediate effect IF there are places available, for a decrease in sessions you must give one months notice.
The swapping of sessions is ONLY permitted on a permanent basis.
Personal Property and Belongings.
We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to children or parents property. Every reasonable effort will be made by the Nursery Staff to ensure all belongings are not lost or damaged.
It is the parent’s responsibility to name and clearly label all items of children’s clothing. We strongly recommend that inexpensive clothing is worn by children attending the nursery, and all toys and books etc be left at home.
We have full Public Liability Insurance which is extensive – full details of the policy can be obtained upon request to the Area Manager.
We may require parents/carers to withdraw or remove their child from the nursery in the event that the Nursery Manager considers the child to be displaying disruptive, challenging or inappropriate behaviour.
However all efforts to meet the child’s needs will be made, external agencies may be involved and full consultation with parents will be held at all times before such a decision is made.
We accept no responsibility for any loss suffered by parents, arising directly or indirectly as a result of the nursery being temporarily closed or the non admittance of your child to the nursery for any reason, this applies to sickness, holidays and Bank Holidays.
We accept no responsibility for children whilst in their parents care on the Nursery Premises, i.e. at arrival and pick up times, or pre arranged parties etc. We will not be liable to parents for any economic loss of any kind, for damage to the child’s pr parent’s property, for loss resulting from a claim made by any third party for any special, indirect or consequential loss or damage of any kind.
We will make every effort to keep parents and/or children’s property in good order. Liability for damage of such property is excluded except where it has been caused by our negligence.
Accidents and Illness
We reserve the right to administer basic first aid and treatment when necessary. Parents will be informed of all accidents and will be asked to sign and accident form when picking up their child. For accidents of a more serious nature requiring hospital treatment, every effort will be made to contact the parent, but failing this, we are hereby authorised to act on behalf of the parent and authorise any necessary treatment
We will only administer prescribed medication for which parents MUST complete a “Medicine Consent Form” on arrival at the nursery. The first dose of medication must be administered at home, and if a child is taking antibiotics for the first time he/she must remain at home for 24 hours in case of allergic reaction. We may require parents to withdraw their child from nursery if they are running a temperature, or if we have reasonable cause to believe that they are suffering from, or have suffered from a contagious disease or infection, and therefore pose a risk to other children, staff and parents attending the nursery. We accept no responsibility for children who contract a contagious disease or infection from the nursery. Please refer to our Sickness Policy regarding incubation and exclusion periods. We have a realistic attitude to the needs of sick children and working parents, but we reserve the right to contact the parent if their child becomes ill during nursery hours.
Refusal to collect your child under these circumstances will result in your child being taken to the local hospital for attention/treatment.
Under no circumstances will any child be allowed to leave the nursery with anyone unknown to the nursery staff, unless the parents have previously arranged this. If in an emergency, parents make telephone arrangements for someone else to collect their child the nursery must be given a full name, description and password as proof of identity and this will be requested on arrival at the nursery.
Staff have an obligation under the EYFS to observe children and make written notes on their development and progress to enable us to plan effectively to meet the needs of every individual child, and promote their learning and education. Parents have the right to see these notes at any time, and all written documentation, photographs etc will be given to the parent when the child leaves the nursery.
