If a child has an accident while at the nursery, the following procedures would occur.
There are regular fire drills held as a matter of course so staff and children become familiar with the procedure.
Fire safety regulations are adhered to at all times and our fire and electrical equipment is tested on a regular basis.
There is a strict no smoking policy enforced in all our nurseries.
All our nurseries are secure and no person is allowed into the nursery if they are unknown to the staff.
If a friend of the parent is to pick up their child a password system is used to verify their identity.
All nurseries have an electrical control of entry system.
Staff will only hand over children to people who have previously been authorised to collect the child and are known to them.
If a friend of the parent is to pick up their child a password system is used to verify their identity.
No child will be allowed to leave the building with anyone if prior arrangements have not been made.
We fully appreciate the work demands placed upon parents/carers and would only contact you if your child is genuinely not well enough to be at the nursery.
In the event of a child becoming ill while at the nursery the child's parent/carer would be asked to come and collect their child. The child would be comforted and remain with a staff member until they were collected.
Our nurseries have a strict control of infection policy. To protect other
children and staff we insist that all children remain at home until all signs
and symptoms have been clear for at least 24hrs and they are well enough to
cope with a busy nursery day.
We request that parents/carers contact the nursery by telephone if their child
is to be absent for any reason. We also request that the nursery is informed if
any child has an infectious illness so we can inform other parents/carers
to watch out for signs and symptoms in their own child.
